COOKING A NEIGHBOURHOOD: MASTER OF DESIGN THESIS A method adopted by the T+HUIS to develop new, and improve existing, programs to become more relevant service solutions. Using a metaphor encourages the children to tap into their imagination while sharing their expertise. Games are used a tool for common language between the child and the social worker and designer. I took a collaborative approach by assembling a team of social workers and children to work together with, applying generative design research as a key element in unlocking the expertise of children early in the design process.
